A Sweet and totally original German Girl mould number 457 by Baehr & Proeschild

This is a sweet little German bisque headed girl - and she is totally original. A lovely size too - just 15" tall.

Click on picture on the left for a larger view.

She dates from around 1898. Sleep brown eyes, and open mouth with teeth. Pretty pale blond original wig. Fully jointed body with no playwear but some flaking areas to the paint and gesso on upper arms and upper legs. I think she has just been stored in an attic for some time, as she is in such unplayed with condition. Her dress is gorgeous - cream lace - and underneath her undies are just as impressive. A pleated half slip with lace trim and inserts, and under that a lovely knitted half underskirt with pink silk trims. This is particularly pretty with little points all the way round the bottom. Under that long drawers. She has her original socks - one very frail and the other, well not a lot left of it - but I prefer to retain this as it is rather than add replacement socks - but entirely up to the purchaser. Super little original shoes incised underneath with 1, the same as her head. Her bonnet is cream silk, this is shredding, but is so thick it is still lovely for display. 457s were produced by Baehr & Proeschild. She is a charming doll with a gentle look. Personally, I like her very much and would recommend her to any of my collectors. A delightful doll for any collection. Do contact me if you are interested in purchasing this lovely girl.
